Beautiful brown, in a nutshell
American Walnut, scientifically known as Juglans nigra, is a hardwood species native to North America. The wood is renowned for its rich, dark brown color. Sometimes, it may also feature occasional knots. However, our A-class wood hardly has any. On the contrary, the wood has a fine, even texture that takes finishes exceptionally well, resulting in a smooth and polished surface. Especially after it is varnished in our workshop.
American Walnut is popular in the crafting of high-quality furniture, cabinetry and interior paneling. Its dark, elegant appearance lends a sophisticated touch to various applications. Additionally, it is a favored choice for decorative veneers.
As with any wood species, we only do sustainable sourcing through our supplier. American Walnut is generally available from responsibly managed forests, and certification programs like the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) help ensure environmentally sound harvesting.
The American Walnut we use in our MapaWalls is considered a premium wood, and its cost reflects its quality and desirability. The expense is justified by its beautiful appearance and versatility. That's one of the main reasons why our MapaWall American Walnut is a popular choice for those seeking a combination of natural beauty and functional durability in their interior projects.
