Zebra-stripe as a pattern


Zebrano wood, also known as zebrawood, comes from the tree species Microberlinia brazzavillensis, native to the tropical regions of West Africa, particularly Gabon and Cameroon.
Zebrano is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by a pale golden-yellow background with dark brown to black streaks, creating a distinctive zebra-stripe pattern. This unique grain pattern is highly sought after in woodworking.
Zebrano is a hardwood with a moderately coarse texture. It is known for its durability and resistance to decay.
While Zebrano is generally considered to be moderately difficult to work with due to its hardness, it can be successfully cut amnd engraved by our powerful CO2 laser. 

Zebrano wood is often used in high-end furniture, cabinetry, veneers, and decorative items. Its distinctive appearance makes it a favorite for creating eye-catching design elements. In addition to its use in fine woodworking, Zebrano is also employed in musical instrument construction, particularly for guitar bodies and exotic woodwind instruments.

As with any wood species, it's important to consider the sustainability of harvesting practices. Zebrano is listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List as a species of least concern, meaning it is not currently facing a significant risk of extinction. However, responsible sourcing and adherence to sustainable forestry practices are still crucial.
